The DEQ mandated that La Pine have a sewer system, the La Pine Special Sewer District was formed. Construction of the Sewer System was started in 1987, and went on line in November 1988.

The Sewer District obtained grants and government loans to build the initial sewer system. Future expansion, as well as continued operation of the system, is funded by user fees only. As long as the District continues to operate in the black, there will be no property tax levied to support the district.

LA PINE SPECIAL SEWER DISTRICT BUDGET COMMITTEE

The La Pine Special Sewer District is looking for interested parties to be on the FY12-13 budget committee.  In order to be eligible to participate as a member of the budget committee you must be a registered voter living within the District.  Please contact the office at 541-536‑6236 if you are interested in participating in the District’s budgeting process.

Upcoming Meetings

The district will be in Executive Session under ORS 192.660(2)(d) on Friday May 4, 2012 at 10:00 am. The meeting will occur at 51490 Hinkle Way in La Pine. There will be a Special Session immediately following at 10:30 am.

Budget Committee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 5:15pm. The meeting will be held at La Pine City Hall located at 16345 6th Street, Ste #102.
