The DEQ mandated that La Pine have a sewer system, the La Pine Special Sewer District was formed. Construction of the Sewer System was started in 1987, and went on line in November 1988. The Sewer District obtained grants and government loans to build the initial sewer system. Future expansion, as well as continued operation of the system, is funded by user fees only. As long as the District continues to operate in the black, there will be no property tax levied to support the district. Click here to see the boundary map.
